Aquagrain was founded with a clear mission: to tackle two urgent global challenges — water scarcity and sustainable food production — while reducing environmental impact.
The idea grew from years of research into how plants can thrive in arid soils using less water, while also addressing issues in relation to agricultural and organic waste.
Our breakthrough was developing a process to transform organic material — that would otherwise be incinerated and contribute to global warming — into a soil additive that stores water and nutrients and releases them slowly to plant roots.

"My academic journey has been central to this innovation. With a BSc in Chemistry, an MSc in Biochemistry, and a Ph.D. in Biodegradation, I’ve developed a holistic understanding of how materials, biological systems, and environmental processes interact. This multidisciplinary perspective allowed me to approach the water-agriculture-waste problem from multiple angles and design a solution that is both scientifically sound and environmentally impactful.
Our founding team brings together deep scientific expertise, engineering know-how, and business acumen. For me, the motivation is deeply personal — shaped by witnessing the human and environmental costs of water scarcity and waste mismanagement."
