Aquagrain trialled on East Anglian sandy soils with seed potatoes

In June a small trial was established on free draining sandy soils in the coastal region of Suffolk. The trial was hosted by one of the regions largest potato farmers. The trial was also supported by Delta-T Devices who provided soil moisture sensors to monitor Aquagrain performance in retaining soil moisture.

Standard irrigation and crop treatments were applied to plots with and without Aquagrain. The objectives of the trial were to determine whether soil moisture levels were higher in Aquagrain treatments and whether this had a positive effect on the crop.
